Defender Naldo and striker Hugo Almeida will miss Werder Bremen's Champions League game against Inter Milan because of injury.
Naldo has a swollen toe and Almeida has a back injury, Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf said Monday.
The team is also missing suspended playmaker Diego, while captain Frank Baumann is questionable.
Schaaf's team has to win _ and hope that Panathinaikos does not lose to Anorthosis _ to finish third in the group and still reach the UEFA Cup. Bremen cannot qualify for the knockout stage of the Champions League.
