Qld: Pudding on the menu for Qld prisoners this Christmas

Queensland prisoners will be treated to a roast dinner and plum pudding on Christmas
Day - but there are no surprises with the special fare.

A prisons department spokesman says it's the same menu as last year's.

The inmates' Christmas Day menu features cereal, milk, grilled bacon, tomato, egg,
toast, margarine, jam and honey and tea for breakfeast.

Lunch includes roast chicken, roast potato, roast pumpkin, beans, gravy, plum pudding,
custard, ice cream and fruit.

The feast continues for dinner, with shoulder ham, coleslaw, potato salad, tomato,
beetroot and cucumber, bread, margarine, jam and honey.

A spokesman for prisons minister TOM BARTON says prisoners usually ate spaghetti bolognese
and the occasional steak, but were given special food in the tradition of Christmas.
